The Big Pickup is an annual community cleanup event held on the third Saturday in May.

9 a.m. until noon (or until the dumpsters are full). You must be in line by noon.
Location:
The Big Pickup is held at the corner of Industrial Way SW and 13th Avenue SE, near Republic Services.

What if I have items that are not accepted?
A load of trash
- $20 per load
- What is "a load of trash"? Think of a single truck bed or trailer. Please be reasonable.
- ALL small items must be bagged.
- Couches, mattresses, and portable basketball hoops are all OK.
- Car, motorcycle, tractor batteries are ok.
- No other items with hazardous waste, fuels, or refrigerants.
Tires
- Standard passenger tire, off-rim: $4/tire
- Standard passenger tire, on-rim: $6/tire
- Standard passenger tire, filled with foam, concrete, mud, etc.: $20/tire
- Oversize tires 22"+, off-rim: $14/tire
- Oversize tires 22"+, on-rim: $24/tire
Non-perishable food
Donations of non-perishable food to Fish of Albany are also accepted.

What about items not on the list?

These items are accepted at the Republic Services Albany Recycle Roundup on the same day as the Big Pickup, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., at 1214 Montgomery St SE.
