All City of Albany website content is copyright City of Albany, Oregon. All rights reserved. Permission is granted to download information from this website, so long as such information is not used for commercial purposes.

Albany logos, seals, and individual department logos are the property of the City of Albany, Oregon and may not be used by others unless a license for its use is granted in writing and duly executed by an authorized City representative.

All other artwork used on this site is the property of the respective owner and used on this site with permission.

External Link Policy

The City of Albany links to a number of sites from outside City government. Citizens don't always know or care which agency provides a service or where to get particular information. The City provides links to these sites as a courtesy to our citizens.

The City of Albany makes decisions on what links to include on our web site, using the following guidelines:

• Other governments and educational institutions in the state of Oregon, including individual school web sites.
• Non-profit or public organizations that have some relationship to the City, usually contractual.
• Utility and other service companies who have an established franchise agreement with the City.
• Generally recognized community councils and organizations. If there is a question about the organization, the City Manager’s Office is consulted.
• Major arts, cultural, sports, or other festivals of general interest to Albany citizens.
• Major media outlets who are based in Albany, or regional outlets that regularly cover news stories in Albany.
• General employment information in the Albany area.
• Tourist information, principally from the Albany Visitors Association and Albany Downtown Association.

The City of Albany does not generally link to:

• Corporate commercial sites; however, sites on the City's server may include links to member or sponsor organizations. The City will also include links to business sites if they are presented as part of an economic development page, directly related to City programs.
• Individual personal home pages.
• Generic third-party directory sites such as for internet/tv resellers and educational institutions.
• National sites, although departments may include links to public interest associations and similar organizations.

The City of Albany does not link to:

• Candidate sites or sites advocating a position on City or other ballot issues.

Privacy

The City of Albany is highly sensitive to the privacy interests of its citizens and believes that the protection of those interests is one of its most important responsibilities. In acknowledgment of its obligations, the City will not request any more information than is necessary to provide the highest level of service.

The City uses firewalls and other security technology to prevent our computers from being accessed by unauthorized persons. During the course of a credit card transaction, the information is stored on a secured server. To perform this service, the City must, of course, pass information about transactions to your financial institution. The City will not share this information with any other third party other than the payment processing vendor.

Documents submitted to the City of Albany are generally presumed to be public records subject to inspection and copying upon request.

The email address at which you receive the City Bridges e-newsletter may be used for other communications from the City of Albany but will not be provided to private parties or used for commercial purposes.

Social Media Content and Comments

The purpose of the City's social media accounts is to discuss matters of public interest in and to the City of Albany as identified and raised by the City for discussion. We encourage you to submit comments that are on topic, but please address your comments to the specific topic(s) discussed. This is a forum limited to the specific topics identified and raised by the City of Albany. Users who submit content to these accounts agree they have read, understand, and agree to the following terms and conditions by virtue of such use.

Content shared on official City of Albany social media channels should reflect the mission and values of the City of Albany. Comments by the public on content created or shared by the City are also expected to refrain from vulgar, profane, violent, sexist, racist, threatening, or other offensive language or imagery; infringement on copyright or intellectual property rights; solicitation of commerce or a specific business, unless a purpose can be demonstrated within the context of City operations; providing false, libelous or defamatory information; violating the privacy of its subjects through images or information; compromising the safety or security of the public; or violating any applicable federal, state or local laws and policies, or promote the violation of such.

Depending on the severity of violation, comments may be hidden or deleted. The City reserves the right to disable comments entirely on certain posts. In some cases, individuals may be blocked or banned from one or all City of Albany social media channels. 

Translation

As a convenience to those who live and work here, the City links to Google Translate which provides an automated translation of the website in accordance with the City's adopted Limited English Proficiency Plan. The tool is not perfect, and the context of the text may not be taken into account when it is translated. As a result, sometimes the translation may lose some of its intended meaning. Therefore, the City of Albany cannot guarantee the accuracy of the converted text. Where there is any question, the English version is always the authoritative version of the website. 

Some items on the site may not be translated, such as images containing text, documents, maps, and web page elements. Additionally, some features on the site may not work in the translated versions. If you have any questions about information that appears on our site, please contact us.
