Albany has a Community Garden that provides a wonderful opportunity for you to plant and grow your own produce! Plots in the Willamette Community Garden, at the corner of Main Street and Front Avenue are available for planting.
The all-organic garden provides sites for vegetables and annuals, a communal herb garden, and a children's garden. Several accessible sites are available. Gardeners can share their skills with others. Some of the produce will be available to the public and to people in need.
The City of Albany Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and Community Development departments and many volunteers are working together to create the community garden. The garden offers individuals the opportunity to grow healthful food in an environment that promotes learning and a sense of community.
