In coordination with the start of fall term at Linn-Benton Community College and Oregon State University, the Linn-Benton Loop and Albany Transit System will restore most previously run routes and hours of service on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Routes and hours of service have been temporarily reduced since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The transit systems in Linn and Benton counties are currently operating under Level 2 of the Governor’s re-opening plan and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) guidance. Under Level 2, public transit buses are required to limit the number of passengers on board to maintain three feet of social distancing. Face coverings are required for passengers. OHA additionally requires social distancing between the bus drivers and passengers which means buses will continue to load and unload passengers through the back doors and fares will not be collected. Individuals with disabilities requiring mobility devices may continue to load through the front door ramp.
An updated schedule and information for the Linn-Benton Loop can be found at www.taketheloop.com and for the Albany Transit System at www.albanytransit.com. You can also call 541-917-7667 for both services.
