Frequently Asked Questions
Is it free?
Yes!
What time will the movie start?
Our movies start at sundown, when it's dark enough for everyone to enjoy the movie on the big screen. Since sunset varies throughout the summer, the start time will vary by date. Be sure to check the sunset time before heading to the park so you can plan accordingly! To ensure you see the entire movie, please arrive 30 minutes prior.
Bring a flashlight or a headlamp to light your way back to your house or car after the movie.
Is it all ages? Is it family-friendly?
Anyone of any age can attend Movies in the Park. The movies are all rated PG-13 or below, but families are encouraged to research the movie of the night and decide for themselves if it is appropriate for their family.
Can I bring my dog?
The park is open to dogs on leashes. Only you know if your fluffy friend will be a good neighbor to other moviegoers. Unruly dogs, like unruly guests, will be asked to leave.
Is it ADA compliant?
The park is open to all attendees, but there are no specific ADA services available. Folks with mobility issues are encouraged to visit the park beforehand and see if they can comfortably attend.
Are there restrooms?
Restroom facilities will be available at all movie locations. Portable restrooms will be provided at Sunrise Park and Doug Killin Friendship Park. Public restrooms at Monteith Riverpark will be open during the event.
Where can I park?
Guests are encouraged to use street parking. Please be mindful of the residents near the park and be good neighbors! Monteith Park will have parking available in the park lot.
Will there be chairs, or can I bring a chair?
Chairs are not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own! We ask that tall chairs be organized around the edges and towards the back so that low chairs and picnic blankets are not impeded. The ground can be soft, so waterproof blankets or pads are also encouraged.
Can I reserve a spot?
Nope! Space in the park is first-come, first-served. There is no designated time that people can reserve spaces. Please be mindful that staff are not around all day and are not responsible for patrons' items. We do encourage taller chairs to be set up on the edges and towards the back for maximum visibility of blanket dwellers.
Will there be concessions?
Concessions won't be available; be sure to bring your favorite snacks and drinks. Please leave alcoholic beverages at home. Please be mindful of your garbage and pack out any pizza boxes or larger items to help keep our parks looking beautiful.
How will trash and cleanup be handled?
Garage dumpsters are onsite for moviegoer trash. We want to be good neighbors, so please pick up after yourselves!
What if it rains or the weather is bad?
If it is just a little misty, the show will continue. If it's really coming down, the movie might be canceled. We encourage you to check the website and our social channels for weather updates if you are unsure.
How do you choose the movies?
The movies were chosen by residents like you through an online survey.
Can I become a sponsor?
Yes, of course! Please email
